We implemented sensor technology that could assess trash volume at customer sites, sensors to weigh the truck trash space and weight and GPS data for tracking and tracing the trucks themselves.

THE CHALLENGE
Our client is a large size waste management company that faced inefficiencies in trash pickup, pickup routes and insufficient or non-maximized capacity of trucks along routes. They knew if they leveraged the right sensor technology, and location technology, they could identify which customers needed pickup, optimize truck weight based on capacity, and preserve their fleet by not overloading trucks, while optimizing pickup for best routes to save time and resources. They needed and IIOT solution that could:

  • Identify if a garbage bin is ready for waste pickup
  • Assign trucks to pick up garbage based on the current weight
  • Route optimization of garbage trucks
  • Vehicle tracking and Geo-fencing
THE SOLUTION
